Hybrid 4 onsite in Maryland Heights, MO

Our client seeks a Business Systems Analyst to serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. The role will lead requirements from discovery through delivery, translate business problems into clear system requirements, and ensure alignment with business goals. The analyst will apply strong SDLC knowledge, facilitate elicitation across diverse stakeholders, produce high-quality user stories and functional documentation, and support initiatives across integrated applications. The role is not a people manager but will demonstrate leadership by owning initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and guiding less experienced analysts.

Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead business and systems analysis efforts from project initiation through implementation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand challenges and identify appropriate technical solutions.
  • Ask discovery questions to clarify needs and priorities.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements and user stories.
  • Understand application, system, and integration interactions across the organization.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Create and maintain documentation including business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and aligned with objectives.
  • Support projects throughout the SDLC with development, QA, and product teams.
  • Drive requirements from intake to final delivery and help prioritize based on value.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate recommendations.

Experience Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and key artifacts at each phase, including elicitation approaches and analysis techniques.
  • 5-10 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating IT systems operations.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and system requirements.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience creating business process flows and workflow documentation.
  • Strong understanding of how business processes translate into system functionality.
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting Product Owners or working within Agile teams, working across multiple integrated applications, and demonstrating product and business mindset.
