This is a 5 days on site position in downtown Washington, DC.


Overview


We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance professional to help drive software quality across a growing cloud-based application platform. This individual will play a key role in establishing testing strategies, improving quality processes, and partnering with Product and Engineering teams to ensure reliable, scalable software delivery.


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building QA best practices, working in a collaborative product environment, and balancing both manual and automated testing efforts.


Key Responsibilities


Quality Strategy & Process Improvement



  • Develop and maintain QA standards, methodologies, and testing practices across the development lifecycle.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve software quality, testing efficiency, and release confidence.

  • Contribute to the evolution of testing frameworks, tools, and quality metrics.


Test Planning & Design



  • Analyze business requirements, feature specifications, and user stories to create comprehensive testing approaches.

  • Design detailed test plans, test scenarios, and validation strategies for new functionality.

  • Identify testing risks, dependencies, and coverage gaps early in the development process.


Test Execution & Automation



  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across web-based applications.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts that support scalable and repeatable testing efforts.

  • Validate APIs, third-party integrations, data flows, and system interactions.

  • Conduct compatibility testing across browsers, devices, and user environments.


Release & Production Support



  • Participate in release planning and deployment readiness activities.

  • Support staging validation, user acceptance testing, and post-release verification.

  • Assist in managing test environments, test data, and release quality checkpoints.


Required Qualifications



  • 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering.

  • Demonstrated success implementing and improving QA processes in Agile development environments.

  • Strong experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.

  • Ability to design, execute, and maintain comprehensive testing documentation and test suites.

  • Experience creating automated tests and test frameworks for web-based applications.

  • Knowledge of performance, load, and scalability testing concepts.

  • Experience testing applications hosted within modern cloud environments.

  • Proven ability to work closely with software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Programming or scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.

  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, or comparable DevOps platforms.

  • Experience testing SaaS applications and API-driven architectures.

  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or other enterprise cloud ecosystems.
