Fullstack Developer

Role Summary

The client is scaling an engineering org from a small base and wants a large intake of early-career builders who

can own features end to end without heavy process. This is a volume hire against a very high bar: they want the

pedigree and drive profile of a founding engineer, at a 0 to 3 year experience level, working in office five days a

week at high intensity. The work is full stack product engineering, TypeScript front to back, with Python and

AWS around the edges.

What they are actually solving for: they are moving from startup to scale-up and need engineers who will set

code quality patterns now, ship fast, talk to non-technical customers in the field services and home

improvement world, and eventually help recruit the next wave. Empathy for a non-technical end user is a real

screening dimension here, not filler.

3. Must-Have Skills (deal-breakers)

• TypeScript, production use. The entire stack is TS front and back. A candidate who has only written

JavaScript at a bootcamp level will not clear the technical screen.

• React. Core to every product surface. React Native is a strong plus but not required.

• Node.js backend exposure. They are hiring full stack, not front end only. Candidates must have written

server-side code.

• Relational SQL, PostgreSQL preferred. Listed in stack. Expect schema and query questions in the technical

screen.

• Evidence of shipping to real users. Coursework and tutorial projects do not count. Internships, startup work,

or a real deployed side project do.

• Genuine willingness to be in a Manhattan office five days a week, long days. This is the single largest

source of fallout. Screen it first, not last.

Nice to Have (separates good from great)

• React Native (mobile surface)

• Python (secondary language in their stack)

• Hands-on AWS deployment, and infrastructure as code with Terraform or Spacelift

• Monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx), Zod, Lodash, GitHub Actions CI/CD

• 0 to 1 build experience at a seed or Series A startup

• Founder or technical co-founder history, hackathon record, VC fellowship (Neo, Contrary, Kleiner Fellows, Z

Fellows, YC), entrepreneurship club leadership

• Any exposure to speech, audio, or ML pipelines given the client's product domain
