Deloitte: Role # 60304
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP BTP Integration Developer to lead the design and implementation of complex integration solutions within a Public Sector environment. In this role, you will leverage the full power of the SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI) to build secure, scalable, and resilient interfaces between SAP S/4HANA and various external cloud/on-premise systems. You will act as a technical lead, driving integration strategy, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring compliance with federal security and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Development: Architect and develop complex integration flows (iFlows) using SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management, Open Connectors). Select appropriate integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, batch) based on technical and business requirements.
SAP S/4HANA Connectivity: Build and optimize integrations with SAP S/4HANA using OData/REST APIs, SOAP, IDocs, RFCs, and BAPIs. Leverage SAP Gateway and Cloud Connector to establish secure connectivity between cloud and on-premise landscapes.
Technical Implementation: Develop advanced mappings (Graphical and Message Mapping), write custom functions and Groovy scripts, configure adapters, and implement robust exception handling, retry logic, and message queuing.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage integration security protocols including OAuth2, mTLS (certificates), SAML, and PGP encryption. Manage BTP Destinations, certificates, and principal propagation to ensure compliance with federal ATO-like controls.
Monitoring & Operations: Proactively monitor integration health using MPLs (Message Processing Logs) and custom dashboards. Configure alerts, perform root-cause analysis for interface failures, and fine-tune performance to meet SLAs.
Collaboration & Leadership: Translate functional requirements into detailed technical interface specifications. Lead technical workstreams, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with functional teams, ABAP developers, and enterprise architects.
DevOps & Documentation: Support CI/CD pipelines for transport of integration artifacts. Maintain comprehensive documentation including interface catalogs, runbooks, and security configuration artifacts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 5 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP integration development, with a significant focus on SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI) .
S/4HANA Depth: Proven experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with external systems, demonstrating strong knowledge of backend integration objects (APIs, IDoc, RFC, BAPI) and standard integration patterns.
Technical Proficiency:
Data Formats: Expert proficiency in JSON, XML, XSD/WSDL, and flat file structures.
Scripting: Strong hands-on experience with Groovy scripting within iFlows (Java experience is a plus).
Mapping: Proficiency with graphical mapping, message mapping, value mapping, and content modifiers.
Security: Working knowledge of OAuth2, mTLS/certificate management, and key management basics.
Operational Excellence: Experience with integration monitoring tools, MPL analysis, error handling, and performance tuning.
Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, lead technical discussions, and mentor team members.
Preferred Skills
Federal/Public Sector Experience: Prior delivery experience within Government & Public Services (GPS) , including exposure to regulated environments, audits, Authority to Operate (ATO) controls, and strict change management procedures is highly preferred.
Advanced Integration Patterns: Experience with SAP Event Mesh and asynchronoevent-driven architectures.
Technical Breadth:
Familiarity with ABAP debugging for interface troubleshooting (analyzing RFC/IDoc processing in the backend).
Knowledge of SAP IAS/IPS (Identity Authentication and Provisioning) and SSO/federation patterns.
Experience integrating with third-party platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or Azure/AWS services.
Experience working with other Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft) and translating requirements to/from BTP.
Platform Knowledge: Exposure to SAP BTP services beyond Integration Suite (e.g., Cloud Foundry, Kyma, or advanced logging services).
