Role Overview Our client is seeking a Data Network Telecom Specialist to oversee the installation, maintenance, and ongoing support of telecommunications, network infrastructure, and peripheral electronic systems. In this role, you will coordinate directly with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to execute new system installations, network upgrades, and hardware repair projects across primary and satellite facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor & Service Coordination: Schedule and coordinate installation, repair, and preventive maintenance services with contractors, vendors, and internal business units.
- Project Execution & Supervision: Initiate, coordinate, and complete upgrade and repair projects for network equipment and site infrastructure, including oversight of on-site contractor and vendor resources.
- Hardware Maintenance & Deployment: Install, configure, repair, modify, and inventory a wide range of communications, network, and electronic equipment (e.g., routers, switches, video surveillance, security/access control systems, public address systems, printers, and handheld communications devices).
- Cabling & Infrastructure Support: Install, splice, test, terminate, and repair various forms of telecommunications and electrical wiring (copper, fiber optic, coax, etc.) to ensure optimal connections and signal integrity across electronic equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Required Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Cable Technician working with digital computer systems, network peripherals, or telephone equipment/station systems.
- OR
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating as a Lead Cable Technician.
- Education & Training (Nice to Have):
- Technical training, trade union certification, or degree-level education in electronics, telecommunications, or digital computer systems (can substitute for up to 1 year of required experience).
- Work Authorization: Must be currently eligible to convert to full-time employment without requiring future visa sponsorship.
