Associate Engineering Technical Specialist

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an
Associate Engineering Technical Specialist to support our Engineering Design Check team in
Long Beach, CA. This position supports various commercial airplane programs including Out of Production (OOP), in-production Spares Modifications and Sub-Component Engineering packages, spanning across the globe. Supports the implementation compliance of standards. Assists in providing configuration management, coordinating changes and performing assessments of compliance and works under general supervision.
The SoCal Engineering Design Check team provides drawing and model technical and non-technical review services to ensure compliance with industry and company process requirements. Our charter involves the following:
- Review Engineering Drawings/Models for compliance with Industry and Company procedures for all OOP aircraft models (including MDC heritage), in-production Spares, Modifications and Sub-Component packages.
- Support Drawing/Model review for Production work statements owned by Long Beach Design Center.
- Ensure Engineering System Inputs meet procedural criteria for downstream systems and customers (PDM, ENOVIA, CATIA, REDARS).
- MDC Drafting Manual Process Owner and provide company procedural review board support (member and/or review).
- Maintain eTEARS database, including design, checklist content and data - provide reporting/metrics to Sr. Leadership.
- Collaboration and troubleshooting analysis with the Engineering community.
Position Responsibilities: - Review and analyze incoming engineering to ensure compliance with industry, regulatory and company processes.
- Provides basic assistance to support the documentation and implementation of engineering tools, processes and standards.
- Assists with the integration of engineering designs.
- Assists in the analysis, maintenance and distribution of engineering documents, reports and correspondence.
- Initially, works under close supervision.
- Must be Detail oriented.
- Ability to Multi-Task in a demanding environment.
- Effective with time management, meeting deadlines, effective communication.
- Some travel may be required.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
- May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - 1+ years' experience with data analysis and/or data mining, should possess basic understanding/experience using CATIA v5, ENOVIA, PDM, and REDARS.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study.
- Possess understanding of basic design including drawings, models, and bill of materials.
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with engineers, process focal(s), stakeholders and management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - 3+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in data analysis and compliance.
- Familiar with ASME standards, company processes (BACs, D6s, BDSs, etc.).
