Role Overview

The Senior Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for the architecture, design, governance, and implementation of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. This role serves as a subject matter expert across AWS and Azure environments, driving best practices, automation, security, and operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Own architecture and design documentation, including review and approval of IT initiatives.

• Ensure the quality, consistency, and governance of technical decisions across infrastructure platforms.

• Develop and enforce cloud strategies, standards, and best practices aligned with modern design principles.

• Act as the subject matter expert for infrastructure implementations in multi-tenant AWS and/or Azure environments.

• Design, deploy, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Identify and implement automation opportunities using native AWS/Azure tooling and platforms such as n8n.

• Collaborate with application developers, IT security, and other infrastructure teams to meet project objectives.

• Design and document operational processes and procedures to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure cloud operations.

• Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and customer outcomes.

• Troubleshoot, remediate, and perform root-cause analysis across compute, storage, networking, Exchange/O365, Active Directory, and Windows/Linux server environments.

• Provide technical leadership across domains including cloud/virtualized environments, business intelligence platforms, and COTS solution evaluation.

• Maintain and improve security, backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies.

• Monitor and manage all installed infrastructure systems to ensure availability and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• 8–10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of experience architecting and implementing cloud solutions in AWS and/or Azure.

• 5+ years of hands-on Windows and Linux server experience.

• 3+ years of virtualization experience (VMware preferred).

• 2+ years of experience developing enterprise-level guidelines and technical standards.

• Proven experience configuring and supporting AWS, Azure, and VMware infrastructure and services.

• Strong understanding of production data center operations.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across projects and operational work.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
