Job Description:

Cloudera Administrator with hands-on experience to serve as the primary individual contributor for Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) infrastructure. Role requires complete technical ownership over the health, maintenance, and lifecycle of physical server nodes. Work will include executing hands-on OS and hardware-level patching, optimizing on-premises configurations, and managing network security and access controls.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

·  Maintain uptime and health of clusters using Cloudera Manager alerts, metrics, and diagnostics.

·  Manage physical storage health, monitoring local enterprise disks, optimizing HDFS layout, and resolving drive failures.

·  Configure and fine-tune core Hadoop services (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Kafka, Spark) to extract maximum performance from on-prem hardware.

·  Execute disaster recovery (DR) protocols, managing local data backups, snapshots, and offsite replication workflows.

·  Own and execute OS-level patching across all physical cluster nodes using Ansible or local repositories.

·  Coordinate and work alongside other infrastructure teams to schedule and validate physical hardware or firmware updates.

·  Perform end-to-end Cloudera runtime upgrades, service packs, and emergency hotfixes via rolling maintenance.

·  Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash or Python) to streamline patch management and repetitive infrastructure tasks.

·  Implement and enforce enterprise security

·  Design and manage role-based access control (RBAC), data governance policies, and auditing rules

·  Integrate Cloudera authentication directly with enterprise infrastructure like Active Directory (AD) or LDAP.

·  Maintain audit logs and system configurations to ensure compliance with strict internal data security and physical data center standards.

Technical Experience

·  Experience: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Cloudera/Hadoop Administrator in on-premises environments.

·  Platform Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Cloudera CDP Private Cloud Base (or CDH) and Cloudera Manager.

·  On-Prem Security: Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting Kerberos architectures and Apache Ranger at scale.

·  Networking & Hardware: Strong understanding of local network layers (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) and enterprise server hardware (HP, Dell, Cisco).
