Infrastructure Manager (Hands-On / Player-Coach)

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to lead and strengthen enterprise infrastructure operations. This role combines formal team leadership (2–6 direct reports) with deep technical execution across the bank’s core infrastructure stack.

The successful candidate will act as both operational leader and senior technical contributor, responsible for stabilizing the environment, improving team execution, and ensuring high availability, resilience, and disciplined change management.

This is a player-coach position requiring both leadership maturity and strong hands-on technical expertise.

Leadership & Management Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small infrastructure team (2–6 members)

• Establish prioritization and accountability within a high-demand environment

• Improve operational discipline across:

  • Incident response

  • Patching cycles

  • Disaster recovery testing

  • Documentation standards

  • Change control processes

• Serve as senior escalation point during major incidents

• Reduce friction between infrastructure, security, application, and vendor teams

• Implement structure and process improvements without overburdening the team

• Drive incremental operational improvements while maintaining system stability

• Strengthen ITSM rigor using ServiceNow

• Define and execute short- and medium-term infrastructure roadmap initiatives

Core Technical Responsibilities (Hands-On)

Virtualization & Compute

• Manage VMware ESX/ESXi environments hosted on HPE platforms

• Oversee Windows Server (2012–2022) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.9 environments

• Administer Active Directory (2019), including GPO and OU design

Disaster Recovery & Backup

• Manage DR strategy including SRM and vSphere Replication

• Conduct structured DR testing and validation

• Oversee backup and replication solutions (Veritas NetBackup, Arcserve HRA)

Messaging & Collaboration

• Support SQL Server 2016 infrastructure

• Administer Exchange Hybrid (on-prem + M365), Enterprise Vault, and RightFax

Storage & Cloud

• Manage storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC)

• Support Azure and AWS environments

End-User & Network Infrastructure

• Oversee Citrix (Virtual Apps, NetScaler ADC)

• Support Meraki (Guest Wi-Fi) and Riverbed WAN optimization

Security, Automation & Monitoring

• Implement patching and security hardening practices

• Develop automation using PowerShell scripting

• Ensure high availability through proactive monitoring

• Utilize ServiceNow ITSM and Jira frameworks for operational collaboration

Required Profile

• 15+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience

• 5+ years in leadership or team management roles

• Experience within regulated financial environments preferred

• Proven ability to stabilize and organize stretched teams

• Strong emotional intelligence and cross-functional communication skills

• Comfortable operating as both strategic decision-maker and hands-on engineer
