Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Clearance Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Job Description:

As a Senior Advanced Electro-Optic Design Engineer, you'll design, develop, build and test systems and products based on optic, photonic and laser technologies. This involves interacting with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems; specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive optical components, developing and benchmarking system performance models, developing and implementing test procedures and/or evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation.

Our team at Annapolis Junction, Maryland works cutting-edge programs to develop Free Space Optical (FSO) communications systems. We design, develop, build, test, and field innovative prototypes for impactful demonstrations of critical technologies. Our portfolio includes multiple concurrent programs spanning space, airborne, and tactical ground domains.

What you bring to the table:
  • Proven track record of electrical and optical design experience
  • Solid experience in the use of optical and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunication applications and electrical engineering design tools
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electro-optical engineering design
  • Experience with optical and RF test and measurement equipment and laboratory tools
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: MATLAB, Lumerical, Zemax, VPI, Python, C/C++, LabView

Combined Salary Range

USD $160,085.00 - USD $173,217.00 /Yr.
