JOB TITLE:Support Engineer III
DURATION: 12 MONTHS
LCOATION: ONSITE IN SEATTLE WA
PAY RATE: $31- $41 HOURLY
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Drone Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to design, manage and employ a variety of standard and custom configured instrumentation, including proprietary data recording and aircraft systems command modules. The ideal candidate will be able to assist with writing flight test plans to meet engineering team requirements and then be responsible for ensuring optimized instrumentation configurations, function and data recovery/delivery consistent with high-paced flight test operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
3-5+ years flight test instrumentation experience
Hands-on sensor integration (accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, cameras)
Data acquisition systems and analysis expertise
Core Responsibilities
Design, develop, and operate flight test instrumentation end-to-end
Integrate sensors with vehicle systems (weight/balance, EMI, thermal testing)
Manage vendor relationships and project budgets
Provide troubleshooting support and develop contingency plans
Create documentation and standard operating procedures
Travel time requirements estimated at 10%
Key Required Technical Skills
Flight test sensor integration and data reduction
GNSS/DGNSS systems setup
Electrical power systems and fault injection
Environmental testing standards (DO-160G)
CAD software proficiency
Demonstrated ability to review test objectives and generate instrumentation plans to meet supporting data collection requirements.
