Summary

Description
The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives within the Enterprise PMO, with a primary focus on projects involving SAP implementations, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and IBM iSeries modernization or migration efforts. This role ensures delivery excellence through structured project governance, proactive risk management, and alignment with enterprise standards using PMO toolsets including Jira, Planview, and ServiceNow.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical fluency, business acumen, and enterprise-level project leadership, capable of driving outcomes across global IT, manufacturing, supply chain, and business stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead end-to-end project lifecycle activities for SAP, MES, and iSeries migration initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts using Planview.
Drive Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery methodologies as appropriate for project scope and organizational standards.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application development, QA, security, and business process owners.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for project sponsors, steering committees, and leadership.
Facilitate project governance meetings, status reporting, and executive updates with clear articulation of risks, dependencies, and impacts.
Translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented communication for non-technical stakeholders.
Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues with structured escalation paths.
Manage dependencies across SAP modules, MES integrations, and legacy iSeries systems.
Ensure compliance with enterprise change management processes via ServiceNow.
PMO Governance & Standards
Ensure adherence to PMO frameworks, documentation standards, and stage-gate requirements.
Maintain project artifacts including charters, RAID logs, financials, and resource plans.
Utilize Jira for Agile team coordination, backlog management, and sprint reporting where applicable.
Technical & Functional Coordination
Partner with SAP functional leads (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.) to align project deliverables with business processes.
Coordinate MES integrations with manufacturing operations, automation teams, and plant IT.
Support iSeries modernization or migration activities including data conversion, application remediation, and cutover planning.
Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to ensure solution alignment with enterprise standards.
Required Qualifications
5-10 years of IT project management experience in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience managing SAP, MES, or iSeries/AS400 projects.
Strong proficiency with Planview, Jira, and ServiceNow.
Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets and complex resource matrices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with global teams and manufacturing or supply chain environments.

Background in infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, or legacy system decommissioning.
Experience in regulated industries (pharma, aerospace, manufacturing).

This is a Contract position based out of East Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
