Job Description:
- Client requires the services of 1 Systems Analyst 2, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Systems Analyst 2, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Client. All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Client and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Client will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).
- 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of experience understanding business objectives and problems and identifying alternative solutions.
- 5+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user requirements, operational procedures, and business problems to automate processes and improve existing computer systems.
- 5+ years of experience writing detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and the steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
- 5+ years of experience conducting cost/benefit analysis of systems and alternative solutions.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing and documenting input and output requirements, including data input formats, data summarization methods, and reporting formats.
- 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities for complex and difficult situations.
- 5+ years of experience demonstrating highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience using strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and achieve desired work outcomes.
- 5+ years of experience with Information Technology industry trends, directions, and market developments, with the ability to relate them to organizational needs.
- 5+ years of experience with architectural concepts, principles, and tools related to infrastructure, information, applications, and organizational structures.
- 5+ years of experience with emerging technologies, including technologies new to organizational systems and the broader Information Systems industry.
- 2+ years of preferred experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and related document templates.
- 2+ years of preferred experience with information architecture and information management methodologies.
- 2+ years of preferred experience with existing and planned software technologies, including global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
