Job Description

Learning begins in the classroom but there's no better place to gain real-world experience than with Stantec. Interns are an integral part of our teams, working to solve some of the world's most complex challenges.

As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

Your Opportunity

As part of our Washington, DC studio located at 1615 M Street, you will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where you will contribute to real project work and develop practical skills through hands-on involvement. Working closely with experienced professionals, you will support active project tasks, participate in design and coordination activities, and contribute to the development of high-quality deliverables. This internship is designed to strengthen your technical abilities, broaden your understanding of professional practice, and help you build confidence as you prepare for the next steps in your academic and career journey.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project teams in developing design documents including sketches, diagrams, plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Assist with 3D modeling using programs such as Revit and Rhino
  • Conduct research on materials, precedents, sustainability strategies, and concept development.
  • Participate in site visits, client meetings, and interdisciplinary coordination sessions.
  • Contribute to project presentations and visual communication packages.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Architecture (junior or senior year).
  • Strong design communication skills-hand sketching and digital visualization.
  • Experience with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
