Summary

General Statement of Duties

This position supports the division's strategic goals by transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable reports. The Specialist manages the accuracy and security of educational data and uses statistical software to analyze student performance and program outcomes. Additionally, the role builds division-wide data literacy by helping staff interpret and apply information to support decision-making.

Essential Duties

Collaborates with school and division staff to analyze demographic data, program outcomes, and student performance trends, pinpointing educational needs.

Conducts comprehensive data collection through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Utilizes advanced statistical software like Excel, SPSS, SAS, or R, alongside qualitative tools like Dedoose or NVivo, to analyze complex datasets and extract insights.

Keeps data systems and processes well-documented, ensuring technical accuracy and accessibility.

Implements strict data security measures and controls access to data platforms.

Synthesizes data findings into clear reports, presenting actionable insights to stakeholders and effectively communicating results across diverse audiences.

Facilitates data integration and supports assessment processes through precise uploads and reconciliation with the Student Information System.

Provides training on data analysis and interpretation, boosting staff data literacy and supporting informed decision-making.

Manages the preparation and distribution of both scheduled and ad hoc data reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensures timely and accurate data analysis and reporting, managing multiple requests efficiently to meet deadlines.

Commands a thorough grasp of educational performance metrics and federal/state accountability systems, including the replication of complex calculations.

Knowledge of state and division student assessment programs, including data interpretation and formative and summative data uses at the school and division level.

Supports the division's assessment program by providing testing assistance, managing student data uploads, and overseeing the assessment and analytics platforms for smooth operations and accurate data.

Exhibits autonomy in managing tasks and projects, adjusting flexibly to additional responsibilities as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees (Master's or Doctoral). Applicants should demonstrate 3-5 years of experience with comprehensive data reporting initiatives, with a focus on data collections and analysis in educational settings. Proficiency in data management tools like Excel, SAS, or SPSS is essential, alongside exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively synthesize and convey complex data insights. The ability to manage multiple tasks, work collaboratively across teams, and a thorough understanding of public education systems are also key qualifications for this role. Candidates must exhibit autonomy in managing tasks and projects, with flexibility to adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.

*Minimum annualized salary - $82,943.74 (The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date).

* Salary based on the 2025-26 pay scale, subject to change based on adoption of the 2026-27 pay scale.
