Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workato Platform Developer to support the design, development, and ongoing optimization of our enterprise automation environment. This individual will be responsible for building scalable integrations and automated workflows across the organization while establishing standards that promote consistency, reliability, security, and maintainability.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Workato and a solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, connectors, data mapping, and workflow automation. This role will also help establish best practices, governance standards, reusable components, and operational processes for the Workato platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for the Workato platform.
  • Manage the configuration, administration, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Workato environment.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain integrations and automated workflows using Workato.
  • Build integrations between enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and other business systems.
  • Develop and maintain custom connectors, recipes, workflows, and reusable automation components.
  • Establish and enforce standards for integration development, naming conventions, documentation, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable Workato solutions.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and recommend effective integration approaches.
  • Design and implement both real-time and scheduled integrations based on business requirements.
  • Monitor integrations and troubleshoot failures, performance issues, and other production-related problems.
  • Investigate root causes of integration issues and implement corrective and preventative solutions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for integrations, workflows, connectors, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Develop onboarding and knowledge-transfer materials to help teams effectively utilize the Workato platform.
  • Support platform governance, including access management, security controls, standards, and operational policies.
  • Assist with evaluating new Workato capabilities and determining how they can be incorporated into the organization's integration strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for complex Workato-related issues.

Deliverables & Performance Expectations

  • Review and assess existing Workato recipes, connectors, and integration processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, improve, consolidate, or retire existing integrations.
  • Establish appropriate standards and governance around recipes, connectors, APIs, and integration development.
  • Develop reusable templates, components, and automation patterns that can be leveraged across the organization.
  • Design and implement custom REST/SOAP connectors when standard Workato connectors do not meet business requirements.
  • Document integration architecture, workflows, data mappings, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and prioritize integrations based on business needs and technical requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain recipes that automate business processes.
  • Configure appropriate error handling, monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms.
  • Perform testing and validation of integrations, including system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify and resolve integration failures, performance issues, and other production defects.
  • Improve the reliability and efficiency of existing automations and workflows.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for Workato configurations, recipes, connectors, and integration dependencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for additional automation and improved operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding new Workato functionality, connectors, and platform capabilities.
  • Participate in platform upgrades and enhancements while minimizing disruption to existing integrations.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for Workato-related issues.
