We are seeking an experienced Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 with strong expertise in Java, SQL, Linux, and enterprise application development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale applications, troubleshooting production environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Required Skills:
15+ years of hands-on Java development experience
10+ years of SQL database development and optimization
8+ years of experience supporting and enhancing large enterprise applications
5+ years of Linux experience
Strong experience in coding, testing, debugging, and application maintenance
Experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers
Knowledge of database schema design and performance optimization
Experience troubleshooting application issues, system logs, memory utilization, and connectivity
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Experience creating technical documentation, flowcharts, and implementation plans
Ability to coordinate development activities and mentor team members
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Atlassian tools, especially JIRA
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience with State of Texas applications
Experience with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) systems
Experience migrating legacy mainframe applications to Java/SQL environments
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
Analyze business and technical requirements and implement scalable solutions
Design and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and application performance
Troubleshoot production issues and resolve application defects
Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and deployment procedures
Coordinate development efforts and support project planning activities
Develop backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders
Recommend system improvements and implement performance enhancements
Support application modernization and migration initiatives
Education:
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
