Overview
Our client, a leading organization in the defense sector, is seeking a Senior Enterprise Analyst Workday to lead and optimize Compensation, Talent, and Performance systems across the enterprise.
This role will act as a strategic partner and subject matter expert (SME), driving Workday system configuration, process transformation, and enterprise-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation, Talent, and Performance modules, along with strong business analysis and solution delivery experience in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Functional Ownership (Core Focus)
- Serve as the SME for Workday Compensation, Talent & Performance modules
- Configure and manage:
- Performance Reviews
- Talent Reviews & Calibration
- Career Development Plans
- Succession Planning
- Lead execution of annual compensation and performance cycles, including:
- Merit planning
- Bonus cycles
- Mid-year and annual performance reviews
- Ensure Workday modules are optimized, compliant, and aligned with business objectives
- Troubleshoot system issues and ensure data integrity and system performance
Workday Configuration & Technical Execution
- Perform Workday tenant configuration, including business processes, security, and module setup
- Execute data loads (EIBs) and manage Sandbox environments
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and releases with minimal business disruption
- Identify and deliver enhancements and customizations to improve automation and user experience
- Support integrations, reporting, and advanced data analysis initiatives
Business Analysis & Solution Delivery
- Define and document business requirements for HR and enterprise stakeholders
- Conduct end-to-end business process analysis and gap assessments
- Translate business needs into scalable, end-to-end Workday solutions
- Partner with enterprise data teams to extract insights and drive process improvements
- Identify risks, evaluate trade-offs, and provide actionable recommendations
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to HR, Compensation, Benefits, and IT leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned, integrated solutions
- Partner with PMO to deliver enterprise-wide, multi-functional initiatives
- Support roadmap planning and ensure alignment with business priorities and ROI objectives
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executive leadership
Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Drive process standardization, automation, and best practices across HR systems
- Manage post-implementation enhancements and release cycles
- Ensure consistency across enterprise workflows and processes
- Stay current on Workday updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies
- Develop documentation, training, and knowledge transfer materials
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field
- 12 15+ years of experience in Business Analysis / BRM / Enterprise Systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday HRIS, including:
- Advanced Compensation
- Talent & Performance modules
- Proven expertise in:
- Compensation cycles (merit, bonus planning)
- Performance management processes
- Strong knowledge of:
- Workday configuration, integrations, reporting, and security
- Workday Report Writer and advanced reporting techniques
- HRIS data privacy and security best practices
- Experience with data migration, integrations, and enterprise reporting
- Strong understanding of system interfaces, workflows, and database structures
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, complex environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-entity organizations
- Background in process transformation and automation initiatives
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., defense, government)
