Job Description
Senior AWS Data Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Data Engineer with 10+ years of overall experience in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS data services, Databricks, Python, and CI/CD automation, along with domain experience in Finance or Life Sciences/Pharma .
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines on AWS. Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, Databricks, and Python. Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to support efficient deployment and release processes. Design robust data architectures that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Optimize data processing pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards, particularly within Finance or Life Sciences/Pharma environments. Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and promote engineering best practices. Participate in architecture discussions and recommend modern data engineering solutions. Work onsite at the Gilead Santa Monica office three days per week to support team collaboration and project delivery.
EDUCATION
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
