Sr. Network Wireless Engineer - (Aruba + Cisco)
JD:- Scope:
Experienced US based (Down State New York) Specialist Wireless Network Engineer required for a programme of work within team which aims to modernize and enhance the US network infrastructure to improve reliability, security, and user experience. Key initiatives include replacing end-of-life network hardware, deploying enhanced Wi-Fi solutions, and provisioning high-speed internet connectivity services overlayed with SDWAN technology.
The programme will also progress alternative connectivity options such as satellite and 5G solutions for disaster recovery and rapid deployment, while supporting facility expansion projects.
Comprehensive wireless surveys and design work will be a significant part of this engagement, with ad-hoc travel required to the US national grid sites to conduct physical Wi-Fi surveys and Desktop surveys with Ekahau and/or Hamina tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy and optimise enterprise wireless LAN solutions across office and industrial environments.
Conduct wireless surveys (predictive & onsite), RF analysis and coverage optimisation.
Lead troubleshooting for complex WiFi issues, including authentication, interference and performance degradation.
Create and update LowLevel Designs (LLDs) for WiFi, NAC and related network services.
Produce accurate Bill of Materials (BoM) for new deployments, refresh programmes and upgrade initiatives.
Support WiFi lifecycle management including hardware upgrades, software updates and capacity planning.
Work with stakeholders across IT, operations and platform teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Contribute to standards, best practices, design documentation and knowledge sharing within the network engineering chapter.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong handson experience with enterprise WLAN technologies (Cisco, Aruba).
- Must have: Strong Experience with Aruba ClearPass for 802.1X, RADIUS, profiling and role-based access
Deep understanding of:
o RF fundamentals (channel planning, power, interference mitigation) 802.11 standards including WiFi 5/6/6E/7 WLAN authentication (EAP methods, RADIUS, rolebased access) Enterprise controllers, cloudmanaged WiFi platforms and policy engines
- Proficiency with wireless survey tools (Ekahau, Hamina etc.)
- Experience with Cradlepoint, or similar 5G cellularenabled networking platforms
- Experience supporting largescale WiFi environments in complex organisations.
- Experience with Aruba ClearPass for 802.1X, RADIUS, profiling and role-based access
Ability to interpret network analytics, performance data and incident trends.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Able to travel ad-hoc to National Grid locations for onsite pre and post deployment Wi-Fi surveys
