Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced AS400 Architect to design, develop, and support enterprise applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform. The candidate should have strong experience in RPG, CL, DB2, and AS400 application architecture, along with the ability to provide technical leadership and solution design.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AS400/IBM i application solutions.
Provide technical architecture and guidance for AS400 applications.
Analyze existing systems and recommend modernization approaches.
Develop and review RPGLE, CLLE, and SQL-based solutions.
Perform application design, code reviews, and performance tuning.
Work with business teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
Support integration using APIs, web services, and messaging systems.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical resolutions.
Mentor AS400 development teams and ensure coding standards.

Required Skills

Strong experience with IBM i (AS400/iSeries/System i).
Expertise in RPG, RPGLE, Free Format RPG.
Good knowledge of CL/CLLE programming.
Strong experience with DB2 for i and SQL.
Experience in AS400 application architecture and design.
Knowledge of REST APIs, Web Services, and system integration.
Experience with performance tuning and debugging.
Good communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with AS400 modernization projects.
Knowledge of Agile methodology and DevOps practices.
Experience with IBM MQ, FTP, and third-party integrations.
Exposure to cloud integration is an advantage.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Role Summary

The AS400 Architect will be responsible for providing technical leadership, designing scalable IBM i solutions, and ensuring successful delivery of AS400 application projects.
