About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated MOT Foreman / Traffic Management Specialist to lead field crews responsible for implementing and maintaining traffic control plans that ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and construction personnel. This role will serve as the on-site leader for traffic management operations supporting transportation, roadway, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive experience in temporary traffic control, work zone safety, lane closure operations, and crew management. This individual will ensure all traffic control activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, state regulations, and company safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) crews in the field.
  • Implement, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices according to approved Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).
  • Coordinate lane closures, detours, flagging operations, and work zone setups.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Monitor work zones for compliance with FDOT, ATSSA, local agency, and project-specific requirements.
  • Inspect traffic control setups and make adjustments as needed to maintain public and worker safety.
  • Manage crew productivity, scheduling, equipment utilization, and jobsite logistics.
  • Complete daily reports, inspections, incident documentation, and project records.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, project management, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Respond to traffic incidents, emergencies, and changing roadway conditions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and inventory of traffic control equipment, signs, barricades, arrow boards, and message boards.
  • Support transportation infrastructure, ITS, highway, and tolling projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), traffic control, or roadway construction operations.
  • Previous experience leading crews as a Foreman, Lead Technician, or Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) and Work Zone Safety requirements.
  • Experience reading and implementing Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).
  • Ability to coordinate lane closures and manage active roadway work zones.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MOT/TTC Certification (FDOT, ATSSA, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting ITS, roadway, tolling, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • CDL Class A or Class B License.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Experience operating traffic control equipment, message boards, arrow boards, and related work-zone technologies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
