Hybrid 3 days on-site in St. Petersburg, FL

Our client seeks a Senior IT Applications Analyst to support the St. Petersburg Distribution Control Center and the operational health of SCADA and ADMS within a large ADMS modernization program. The role will balance daily production support with strategic delivery and continuous improvement. The analyst will collaborate with operators, stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to ensure reliable, secure, and available grid operations technology. The position will contribute to upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and sustainment activities, and will support storm readiness and emergency response with extended coverage when required.

Rate: $100,000.00 to $115,000.00/yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a 24x7 managed service provider delivering on-shore and off-shore production support.
  • Serve as primary IT liaison for the St. Petersburg DCC to ensure reliable SCADA, ADMS, and grid technology operations.
  • Monitor system health, performance, infrastructure, and dashboards to proactively detect and resolve issues before operational impact.
  • Lead complex incident troubleshooting across vendors, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and business teams.
  • Support on-call rotations, emergency response, and major incident management processes.
  • Plan, test, validate, and deploy SCADA and ADMS enhancements to ensure operational readiness.
  • Advance continuous improvement for reliability, efficiency, automation, monitoring, reporting, and platform modernization.
  • Evaluate performance, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to grid operations.
  • Act as subject matter expert for SCADA/ADMS and integrations with strong architecture and workflow understanding.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, and implementation plans.
  • Communicate status, risks, incidents, outages, maintenance, and project updates to leadership.
  • Research emerging technologies and best practices related to ADMS, SCADA, OMS, automation, cloud, and utility operations.
  • Provide technical leadership, prioritize work, and make recommendations impacting reliability and future direction.
  • Support storm readiness planning, validation exercises, and operational drills.
  • Provide extended support during major storms and restoration events.
  • Work independently while balancing operations support, project delivery, improvements, and evolving priorities.

Experience Requirements:
  • Experience with OT systems such as SCADA, ADMS, OMS, EMS, or related grid control applications.
  • Direct collaboration with Distribution Control Centers, System Operators, or real-time operations organizations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management in complex, highly available production environments.
  • Background in large-scale deployments, upgrades, migrations, or application modernization.
  • Knowledge of electric utility operations, outage restoration, distribution operations, and grid management concepts.
  • Coordination across business stakeholders, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and third-party vendors.
  • Understanding of integrations, interfaces, data flows, and dependencies across enterprise and OT environments.
  • Experience with storm readiness and emergency response requiring extended support and rapid resolution.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level updates.
  • Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and influence technical decisions.
  • Familiarity with software testing, release validation, defect management, and change management.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, server infrastructure, databases, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience in Agile environments with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and qTest.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or related discipline and at least four years of related work experience.
  • Or Associate's degree in a related discipline and at least six years of related work experience.
  • Or High School/GED and at least eight years of related work experience.
  • Hybrid role requires residence within a reasonable commute of the St. Petersburg DCC.
