We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Ruby Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to developing innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby on Rails, web services, and front-end technologies, with the ability to analyze customer needs and deliver robust applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Ruby on Rails applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Analyze existing system architecture to recommend improvements and future enhancements.
• Debug, identify, and resolve software defects efficiently.
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate web services (SOAP, REST) to connect with other systems.
• Ensure code quality through peer reviews, testing frameworks, and adherence to best practices.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior developers when applicable, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, specifically with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, and Redux.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, system architecture, and service-oriented concepts.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL, and Postgres.
• Proficient in debugging, troubleshooting, and correcting errors in complex applications.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to obtain VA Medium-Background Investigation clearance.
• Strong proficiency with version control tools like Git, Github, SVN, or Mercurial.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience leading or mentoring junior developers.
• Hands-on experience with containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with BPM tools such as Camunda and experience with cloud services like AWS.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as RSpec and Jest.
• Understanding of MVC architecture, mocking, and ORM frameworks.
