Hours and Pay


  • Pay Rate: Up to $55.00 per hour (based on experience)

  • Schedule: 9/80 work week (off every other Friday)

  • Location: Sterling Heights, MI

  • Employment Type: Temp-to-perm opportunity

Daily Responsibilities


  • Support build, test, and development of full powerpack systems and associated components

  • Develop and execute test procedures, from unit build and instrumentation through installation, execution, and reporting

  • Conduct testing at component, bench, dynamometer, and full vehicle levels

  • Evaluate multiple powertrain configurations, including engines, transmissions, MGUs, cooling, and air handling systems

  • Diagnose issues, analyze results, and provide detailed problem reporting and root cause analysis

  • Collaborate with suppliers, test facilities, and internal stakeholders across engineering and manufacturing teams

  • Assist with facility operations, including installation, configuration, commissioning, and test setup

  • Support validation and verification activities and contribute to design refinement and release processes

  • Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to program leadership and stakeholders

  • Participate in program milestones, gateways, and continuous improvement initiatives


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in powertrain testing and development, including conventional and electrified systems

  • Experience with automotive or heavy-duty vehicle systems

  • Strong data analysis skills and experience working with 3D modeling data

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Proven technical writing and communication skills



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with PLM systems such as TeamCenter

  • Background in military or ground combat vehicle programs
