Job Details

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with organizational policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements. This position supports general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Gather and review financial information to verify balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, cash, inventory, and other accounts.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare monthly summary statements with supporting documentation.
  • Provide managers with financial data and explanations to help them understand departmental performance.
  • Review, analyze, and adjust departmental financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist managers with interpreting financial statements and identifying relevant financial trends or variances.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments to maintain an accurate general ledger and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist with daily and month-end revenue journal entries.
  • Prepare cash flow information reflecting daily banking activity and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • One or more years of relevant accounting or financial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience within a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity applications and experience using automated financial systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable financial, tax, and regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Education
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand instructions, financial information, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to learn new processes, systems, and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and management direction.
  • Ability to remain organized and complete tasks accurately despite competing priorities and interruptions.
  • Ability to participate regularly in meetings with internal team members and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
