Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Analyst Actuary, Insurance Risk Modeling for a FULL-TIME assignment with one of our premier Financial clients in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:
A leading financial services and retirement solutions platform is seeking a Senior Analyst Actuary, Insurance Risk Modeling to support the development and enhancement of insurance liability models used across pricing, valuation, hedging, and asset-liability management (ALM). This role sits within the Risk organization and works closely with actuarial, investment, and product teams to evaluate insurance liabilities and support risk management decisions across a large multi-asset insurance platform.
  • Develop insurance liability models within the firm's risk liability modeling platform.
  • Communicate modeling findings, results, and implications to Risk leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support onboarding of institutional transactions onto the internal risk platform.
  • Perform liability stress testing across multiple frameworks (e.g., GAAP, Statutory, Economic, Bermuda) and analyze both actuarial and market risks.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring risk models are updated for rate changes and new product features.
  • Conduct validation and control reviews of actuarial and financial models, including methodology and assumption assessments.
  • Assist in building and enhancing quantitative models and analytical tools used by the Risk team to challenge existing risk management, modeling, and pricing practices.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in a life insurance, annuity, financial services, or actuarial consulting environment.
  • Experience developing or working with insurance liability models, including modeling complex insurance products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to hedging strategies or asset-liability management (ALM) preferred.
  • Python programming experience strongly preferred.
  • Progress toward or completion of a professional designation such as ASA, FSA, or CFA preferred.
  • Knowledge of life and annuity products preferred.
