Position overview

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, the Coordinator, Security Operations will be tasked with managing Security Programs, administering access levels, overseeing operations, building relationships, supporting audits, conducting investigations, and assisting in irregular Airport Operations situations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Oversee Access Control Office operations, including contractor performance, workflow priorities, and inventory management.
  • Administer and manage access levels and permissions within the CEM access control system.
  • Manage assigned security and access control programs, ensuring consistent application and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation security legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, evaluate and improve policies, procedures, and operational standards in line with regulations and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Airport Authority departments, tenants, air carriers, ground handlers, and government agencies, providing guidance and issue resolution as required.
  • Deliver security awareness and access control training to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support Transport Canada and internal audits and conduct or assist in security investigations as required.

Key qualifications include:
  • Five years of recent, related experience in airport security, access control, or a regulated operational environment, supplemented by a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing access control or credentialing operations, including administration of access permissions and identity management systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation security regulations, compliance obligations, and regulated operational environments.
  • Experience providing functional oversight of contracted or third-party service providers, including issue resolution and performance monitoring.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, exercise sound judgment, and make defensible decisions in accordance with policy and regulation.
  • Strong technical aptitude with security systems and databases, including access control platforms; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of organization, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to manage competing priorities and safeguard sensitive information
