Job Overview:
The Principal Operations Engineer, Network will serve as the most senior technical authority for operational network infrastructure across a hyperscale AI data-center portfolio. This role involves leading site assessments, operational audits, and technical-readiness efforts, as well as authoring and executing high-risk network MOPs. The position requires extensive travel and collaboration across multiple teams to ensure the seamless operation of mission-critical network topologies.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the senior technical authority for operational network infrastructure, including switches, routers, cabling, copper, fiber, and optics.
• Lead site assessments, operational audits, and technical-readiness efforts before site activation.
• Review network platforms and integration designs from an operational perspective and provide feedback to relevant teams.
• Author, approve, and execute high-risk network MOPs and change records in live production environments.
• Lead fleet-wide root-cause analysis for significant network disruptions through closure.
• Hold OEMs, ODMs, and service vendors accountable to operational standards, including RMA and integration processes.
• Collaborate across network operations, network engineering, compute operations, facilities, supply chain, and customer-facing teams.
• Travel approximately 50%-75% across the data-center fleet.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience operating mission-critical network topologies at scale, serving as the senior technical authority for a site, campus, or fleet.
• Proficiency in IP network operations and optical networking.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols, including OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and MPLS.
• Experience supporting physical network infrastructure, including switches, routers, cabling, optics, and related hardware.
• Proven ability to author and execute high-risk network MOPs and lead root-cause analysis for significant network events.
• Ability to hold OEMs, ODMs, and deployment partners accountable while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Strong written communication skills, including health assessments, RCAs, and design feedback.
• Ability to teach and improve the technical readiness of surrounding teams.
• Preferred experience with hyperscale or large HPC fleets supporting thousands of endpoints.
• Preferred experience with Linux, hardware-management tooling, new-site commissioning, and fleet-scale scripting.

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
