Role Descriptions:
Seeking a strategic and hands-on Manager of Data Management to lead a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, and Project Managers responsible for the stewardship, architecture, and modernization of multiple enterprise databases spanning Operational Data Stores (ODS), Historical Data Stores along with a new Data Lake initiative. This role is responsible for implementing data governance, architecture standards, and platform transformation planning while partnering closely with engineering and technology teams on the implementation of a new enterprise data platform. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and team building skills, with deep expertise in data management, data governance, MDM and data architecture. This role reports to the Data Tower Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, logical DBAs and Project Managers
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and career development opportunities
- Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Build a cohesive team, capable of crossing roles when necessary
- Manage team capacity planning, workload balancing, and hiring strategies
Data Governance & Quality
· Enforce data governance policies, establish database usage guidelines and architecture standards
- Drive improvements in data quality, data availability and master data management
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata standards, data lineage and retention policies across Oncor data stores
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data protection requirements
Data Architecture
· Remove blockers for Data Architects, escalating cross-team dependencies and resourcing conflicts as needed
- Support the professional growth of Data Architects through coaching, feedback, and career development planning
- Ensure the team has the standards, tools, and process support needed to do architecture work consistently and effectively
Stakeholder & Program Collaboration
· Work closely with Technology leaders, product teams, and enterprise architects to align data management strategy with organizational needs
- Act as a key partner in enterprise data platform transformation programs
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
- Manage delivery timelines, resourcing, and risk across concurrent data management initiatives
Platform Transformation
· Partner with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to design and implement Data Lake / Lakehouse solutions
- Work with enterprise architecture, project and data teams on migration of data pipelines from legacy systems to modern platforms, focusing on data quality, governance, and architecture continuity
- Define and implement best practices for data ingestion, transformation, streaming and storage
- Support adoption of scalable, cloud-native data services and tools

Required Qualifications
· 10+ years of experience in data management, data architecture and data governance
- 7+ years of experience leading multi-faceted teams to include, but not limited to, data architecture, data analyst, project management, logical database administrator, business analyst and master data management teams
- Strong experience managing enterprise database platforms
- Proven track record initiating a master data management program
- Strong experience in building high performing, cohesive teams across multiple time zones
- Experience managing a fast-paced environment, responsible for maintenance and health of multiple enterprise databases, resolving production support issues, partnering with business owners on multiple concurrent projects and ensuring governance policies are being upheld
