As a Software Engineer on our PNT (position, navigation, timing) team, you'll be responsible for designing and maintaining state-of-the-art software and firmware for our alternative navigation solutions. You'll work in a small team with diverse technical knowledge, taking new ideas from concept to deployment. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and does not back down when obstacles get in the way. Duties & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain core libraries and frameworks used across all APNT platforms
  • Lead the development and implementation of new features for our products
  • Collaborate closely with the hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams, providing feedback to perfect the final designs and processes
  • Troubleshoot complex issues at your desk, remotely, and in the field
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying and recommending new tools or software to improve our products

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
  • Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust, with experience in Linux development environments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts
  • Demonstrated expertise with software version control (GIT)
  • Experience with CMake and Makefile build systems
  • Proficiency in debugging systems with GDB, including remotely deployed software systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong proficiency in Python and MATLAB
  • Prior experience with build systems like Yocto or Buildroot
  • Experience designing software and libraries for bare-metal embedded systems
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex frame transformation problems (ex. image projections, sensor alignment)
  • Knowledge of sensor fusion and extended Kalman filter techniques and implementation
  • Contributions to open-source projects or publications
