Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Blue Ash, OH
Hire Type: Contract 12+ Months
Hourly Rate: $55hr-$65hr
Schedule: Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Education
* Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering required
* Advanced degree preferred in Electrical Engineering

Required Experience & Skills
Engineering & Technical Skills
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role with significant exposure to sustaining engineering within an R&D organization
* Strong background in hardware-focused product development, with continued support of existing products
* Hands-on experience with PCBA design, updates, troubleshooting, and lifecycle maintenance
* Experience working with cables, harnesses, interconnects, and system-level electrical integration
* Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including debugging and performance optimization
* Demonstrated ability to use Cadence and/or Altium for schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout review
* Experience with embedded electrical systems and hardware/software interactions
* Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools
* Solid understanding of signal integrity, noise mitigation, grounding, and board level architecture
Project Management & Lifecycle Skills
* Demonstrated capability to manage the full product lifecycle, from concept through launch and sustainment
* Proven experience in project planning, documentation, risk assessment, and cross-functional coordination
* Ability to maintain and update technical documentation, engineering change orders (ECOs), and design history files
Collaboration & Leadership
* Strong communicator with a track record of partnering with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, manufacturing, quality, regulatory)
* Technical leadership skills, including mentoring, review participation, and leading problem-solving efforts
* Strong skills in conflict resolution and driving alignment across internal and external partners

Preferred Skills
Advanced Technical Experience
* Experience using multiple engineering approaches to validate designs:
o Hand calculations
o Modeling/simulation
o Empirical testing (benchtop, environmental, in vivo where applicable)
* Windchill highly preferred.
* Experience with rigid-flex and flex PCBAs
* Experience integrating motors into electrical systems
* Knowledge of motor control methods for DC motors (brushed, brushless, servo, etc.)
* Familiarity with communication protocols such as Bluetooth, SPI, IC, USB, UART/USART, etc.
* Design experience for EMC/EMI immunity, ESD, electrical fast transients, and other reliability standards
* Experience with IEC 60601-1/60601-2-2 or other regulated industry standards (UL, ISO, FAA/DO-254, automotive functional safety)
* Design for manufacturing (DFM), assembly (DFA), and test (DFT)
* Experience programming in C, C++, Python, or LabVIEW for test tooling, automation, or embedded interaction
* Experience working under formal design controls or structured quality systems (ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949, etc.)

Industry Experience
* Medical device experience strongly preferred
* Will also consider candidates from other regulated industries, including:
