Summary

Position Summary

The MRO Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the proactive management, coordination, and execution of all MRO activities, including the procurement, inventory, and availability of tools, spare parts, maintenance supplies, and other materials required to support the maintenance, repair, and operational functions of the organization. The role ensures that all critical equipment and parts are available to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency while adhering to budgets, safety protocols, and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the MRO procurement team, setting KPIs (follow KPIs), and conducting performance reviews.

  • Supervising daily procurement activities and troubleshooting urgent issue like stock-outs, delivery delay, or quality non-conformance. 

  • Manage and maintain the MRO inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained to support uninterrupted operations and maintenance.

  • Develop and implement inventory management practices to reduce waste, optimize inventory turnover, and control costs.

  • Track and monitor stock levels, lead times, and reorder points for spare parts, tools, and consumables.

  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Coordinate the sourcing, procurement, and delivery of MRO items, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and reliability.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely supply and competitive pricing.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to meet the organization's requirements.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance and operations teams to plan, prioritize, and allocate resources for repair and maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure all necessary tools, spare parts, and consumables are available to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.

  • Work closely with the maintenance team to understand future needs and address recurring issues related to part availability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing MRO supplies in a maquiladora environment or a similar high-volume manufacturing setting with at least 2 years of experience in leadership role

  • Strong background in managing suppliers overseas, with knowledge of global logistics and customs processes.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly:

  • Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data analysis tools).

  • PowerPoint (for presentations).

  • Outlook (for communication and scheduling).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, and Planner.

  • Knowledge of Power BI is a plus (visualizing procurement data and creating dashboards).
