Sr SDET Automation Engineer-Java, API, Karate, BDD, and Cucumber

Introduction:

This position is for a Senior SDET Automation Engineer who will play a crucial role in extending the testing automation framework using JAVA/JAVA Script. The individual will be responsible for understanding business requirements, developing test strategies and plans, and creating automation test cases using existing automation frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Develop test automation code for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) of systems, infrastructure, and test framework.
• Plan, design, develop, and maintain API test automation framework for automation scripting, execution, and result analysis.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring for test engineers on multiple applications/projects onshore and offshore.
• Coordinate with product owners to resolve issues/enhancements/upgrades and understand specific functionality as needed.
• Develop automated functional scripts using tools such as Java, Karate, and JMeter.
• Perform exploratory and manual testing of the product suite.
• Provide expertise in testing methodologies, best practices, and standards.

Requirements:

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong design and development skills in Java, Cucumber, JBehave, or other BDD testing frameworks.
• At least 9 years of test automation framework design experience.
• Strong experience in testing web services (REST APIs).
• Proven experience developing test scripts, test cases, and test data.
• Ability to write queries in SQL or other relational databases.
• Experience in full-stack and integration testing with 3rd parties.
• End-to-end system integration testing experience for software platforms.
• Experience in TDD, continuous integration, and code review practices.
• Experience with DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Jenkins, Git).

Desired Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Development experience in AWS Cloud technology.
• 3+ years of experience in developing scenario-based performance testing using JMeter.
• Experience with Apigee or other API gateways.
• Experience working on an Agile team with a solid understanding of Agile/Lean practices.
• Understanding of microservice Architecture.
• Experience in load and performance testing.
• Strong documentation skills.
