Genesis10 is currently seeking a VP of Engineering - Hybrid position with a Financial Technology Company located in New York, NY. This is a direct hire opportunity. We are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead high-performing teams and drive predictable, high-quality delivery as the company scales beyond Series A. This role is critical in evolving the engineering organization from early-stage execution to a more structured, scalable system without losing speed. The ideal candidate will help build an AI-first engineering organization, leveraging modern AI tooling and workflows to accelerate development and improve quality.
Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end delivery of critical product initiatives across multiple teams
- Drive predictable execution as the organization scales in size and complexity
- Introduce the right level of structure without slowing teams down
- Balance speed, scope, and quality in a fast-moving environment
- Build and evolve team structures as the company grows from Series A into later stages
- Hire, develop, and lead Engineering Managers and engineers
- Establish clear ownership boundaries, accountability, and team autonomy
- Evolve engineering processes from early-stage to scalable and introduce delivery metrics
- Ensure strong engineering fundamentals including testing, reliability, and production readiness
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and establish best practices
- Work closely with Product and Design to translate priorities into plans
- Partner with senior technical leadership on architecture and platform
Requirements: - Experience scaling an engineering organization from Series A through growth
- Experience growing from a few teams to multiple teams/organizational layers
- 8 years of software engineering experience
- 3 years of leadership experience, including managing managers
- Proven track record in high-growth environments
- Strong operator with consistent delivery and experience building teams
- Practical understanding of AI-assisted development tools in production
- Strong cross-functional partnership and communication skills
- Solid technical foundation and ability to engage in architectural discussions
