Job DetailsResponsibilities:
As a Permanent Commercial Equipment Technician, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of equipment does not deteriorate.
2. Inspecting, operating, or testing machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
3. Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
4. Assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
5. Inspecting drives, motors, and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other maintenance actions, following checklists.
6. Using tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
7. Planning and laying out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
8. Collaborating with the team to troubleshoot and solve equipment related problems.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, the candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical maintenance, and carpentry.
2. Proven experience as a technician with a strong understanding of commercial equipment.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, electrical testing devices, and other equipment necessary for the job.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong understanding of electrical systems, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
9. Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.
10. A valid driver's license.
11. High school diploma or equivalent; further training from a vocational school will be a plus.
