The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates has been engaged by a premier partner in Buffalo, NY to identify an experienced engineer dedicated to optimizing application speed, stability, and enterprise system scale. In this hybrid contract-to-hire engagement, you will serve as a central technical authority driving application efficiency across diverse software ecosystems, ensuring seamless operations from initial architecture through production deployment.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, construct, execute, and maintain automated load testing scripts and frameworks spanning web, cloud, mobile, API, and distributed environments.

  • Drive end-to-end efficiency initiatives across every phase of system development, from initial strategy and script creation to execution, root-cause diagnostics, and executive reporting.

  • Synthesize performance assets utilizing specialized enterprise load tools and engineer custom scripts leveraging core programming languages.

  • Diagnose application telemetry and system behavior using modern monitoring suites to isolate processing bottlenecks and implement targeted fixes.

  • Partner with database, architecture, infrastructure, and core software engineering units to resolve cross-layer system constraints.

  • Champion early-stage testing principles by advising development teams on proactive optimization strategies and reviewing application architectures for potential scale risks.

  • Formulate baseline capacity models, define acceptance criteria, validate system failover, and deliver high-level summary reports for executive leadership.

  • Mentor associate engineers in advanced testing methodologies while troubleshooting complex performance degradation in both pre-production and live environments.

What You Bring

  • Software Testing and Performance Engineering: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated professional experience.

  • OpenText Core Performance Engineering, LoadRunner Cloud, or LoadRunner Enterprise: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience.

  • C Programming: Strong technical proficiency for engineering and maintaining custom testing scripts.

  • JMeter: Proven, practical experience utilizing this tool for load and load-testing execution.

  • APM Tools and Dynatrace: Demonstrated capabilities analyzing application metrics and troubleshooting system bottlenecks.

  • Agile Frameworks, DevOps, and CI/CD Pipelines: Proven background executing within iterative build pipelines and continuous integration environments.

  • Technical Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex diagnostic concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Baseline Hourly Rate: $55.00 – $60.00+ / hour.
