Job#: 3021365 Job Description: Senior ServiceNow Developer SUBFAMILY SUMMARY- Designs, develops, configures, and enhances ServiceNow applications and modules to support functional or operational areas.
- Analyzes complex business problems and translates them into scalable and sustainable ServiceNow platform solutions, leveraging native capabilities before customization.
- Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing ServiceNow workflows, integrations, and automation that are cost-effective and meet user requirements.
- Analyzes existing ServiceNow applications, formulates logic for new modules, prepares flow diagrams, scripts, and performs unit and platform testing.
- Participates in selection of ServiceNow plug-ins, integrations, and application frameworks.
- Assists with development of annual and 5-year capital IT budgets related to the ServiceNow platform.
- Participates in business strategies and objectives that influence enterprise workflow automation and IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and other modules.
- Develops upgrade, migration, and implementation plans for ServiceNow releases and applications. Prepares and obtains approvals for development and platform documentation.
- Configures system settings, workflows, UI policies, business rules, and client/server scripts in ServiceNow.
- Plans and executes unit, integration, regression, and UAT cycles for ServiceNow releases and enhancements.
- Trains users in adoption, implementation, and proper use of developed ServiceNow solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Diagnoses complex issues within the ServiceNow platform, including workflow errors, automation gaps, integrations, and performance concerns.
- Performs advanced analysis, configuration, development, and implementation of ServiceNow applications and custom solutions for business units.
- Maintains and enhances complex ServiceNow application components using JavaScript, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and scoped/custom applications.
- Leads coordination and facilitates interactive design sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Creates functional and technical specifications for ServiceNow solutions, including data models, process flows, and integration patterns.
- Develops and executes detailed test plans, automated tests when applicable, and ongoing quality monitoring.
- Guides business units in defining UAT scripts, testing outcomes, and training materials for ServiceNow deployments.
- Provides day-to-day support for ServiceNow users and junior developers.
- Drives improved user productivity through workflow optimization, automation, and best-practice platform usage.
- Leads other developers during prototype creation, configuration, development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Supports efforts around data imports, CMDB maintenance, data normalization, and reconciliation within ServiceNow.
- Identifies and resolves process gaps; contributes to security/authorization (ACL) design.
- Contributes to annual and 5-year capital IT budgets related to enterprise workflow automation initiatives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR P3 - SENIOR LEVEL- Contributes proactively to IT strategy based on ServiceNow platform direction, product roadmap, and internal needs.
- Acts as liaison between business units and IT teams to advance enterprise workflow digitization.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow administrators and junior developers.
- Participates in project initiation; defines high-level ServiceNow functional requirements.
- Partners with PMO to plan development cycles, scope work, and support project scheduling.
- Ensures alignment of ServiceNow development methodologies with project needs and industry best practices.
- Independently gathers and documents business requirements for new modules and enhancements.
- Establishes and manages moderate-sized ServiceNow project plans.
- Leads integration design and support for systems connecting to ServiceNow (e.g., HRIS, monitoring tools, asset systems, SSO, data feeds).
- Contributes to developing Centers of Excellence for workflow, CMDB, automation, and Service Integration & Management (SIAM).
- Champions governance, coding standards, platform best practices, and performs code/design reviews.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of IT experience with at least 3-5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Proven experience with JavaScript, ServiceNow APIs, Glide scripting, workflow/Flow Designer, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and Catalog Items.
- Experience with at least two full ServiceNow module implementations (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps).
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and ServiceNow update set migration processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ServiceNow data models, CMDB, and integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative design and requirements sessions.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
- Customer-focused attitude; ability to support diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- One or more additional ServiceNow certifications (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, App Engine, etc.).
- Experience with SQL Server or Oracle.
- Experience with Windows Server or Linux-based environments.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., ATF, HP Quality Center).
- Experience with API integrations, IntegrationHub spokes, or mid-server configurations.
