Summary

We are looking for a Google Spanner Data Architect with deep expertise in distributed systems, large-scale data architecture, and Spanner internals. This role will own the target-state data architecture on Google Spanner, ensuring the new data model meets functional correctness, performance SLOs, scalability, and transactional consistency requirements for 1000+ applications before large-scale modernization efforts begin.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logical and physical data modeling, transaction and consistency design, workload performance optimization, and schema compatibility validation. Must have hands-on expertise in Google Spanner internals such as TrueTime, distributed transactions, synchronous replication, and experience designing petabyte-scale, multi-region OLTP systems. Prior experience with Oracle to distributed database migration is strongly preferred.
