Job Description:

• We are seeking a Google Cloud Platform Lead / Architect with a strong Data Engineering background to design and deliver secure, scalable, and cost-optimized data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise across IAM, VPC, GCS, BigQuery, Vertex AI, GKE, Compute Engine, GitHub Actions, and Dataproc, along with deep experience in data warehouse architecture, distributed systems, and DevOps practices.
• This role will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of modern data platforms while ensuring performance, scalability, governance, and security across enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end architecture of data platforms on Google Cloud Platform, covering networking, security, compute, storage, and analytics components. Define High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation, architecture standards, and reference patterns for data ingestion, transformation, serving, and governance. Drive architecture decisions by balancing performance, reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and security, while conducting design reviews and technical audits.
• Data Engineering & Data Warehousing
• Architect and guide the implementation of scalable data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and streaming patterns where applicable. Design and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and distributed data processing pipelines.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery-centric data warehouse or lakehouse solutions, including dimensional modeling, partitioning, clustering, query optimization, and workload performance tuning. Lead enterprise data warehouse design, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD) strategies, conformed dimensions, data quality rules, and data lineage considerations.
• Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineering (Hands-on)
• Implement and enforce enterprise security using IAM policies, least-privilege access models, service accounts, and organization policy guardrails. Engineer and manage workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Compute Engine, ensuring scalability, monitoring, observability, and operational readiness.
• Leverage Google Cloud Storage (GCS) for governed storage and lifecycle management and Dataproc for Spark/Hadoop-based distributed processing.
• DevOps, CI/CD & Automation
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitHub Actions for automated deployment and integration of data pipelines. Establish DevOps best practices including Git branching strategies, environment promotion, artifact and version management, infrastructure automation, and rollback mechanisms.
• AI / ML Enablement
• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Data Science teams to operationalize ML services using Vertex AI, including training, inference integration, and platform readiness. Support secure AI adoption by implementing governance practices such as model explainability, privacy controls, and audit readiness.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with IAM, VPC, GCS, BigQuery, Vertex AI, GKE, Compute Engine, and Dataproc.
• Strong expertise in advanced SQL, Python or PySpark, scalable data pipeline development, performance tuning, and data quality frameworks.
• Deep understanding of data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, distributed data processing, and BigQuery performance optimization.
• Experience with Git workflows, GitHub Actions, pipeline automation, environment management, and DevOps best practices.
• Experience in the Healthcare domain is preferred.
• Exposure to Medicare STAR ratings programs will be considered a strong advantage.

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer are highly preferred

In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $40-50.00/hr. Actual compensation depends on experience and interview evaluation.
