Kratos Space is seeking an experienced System Administrator III to join our team with the following primary responsibilities:

Senior System Administration Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities
  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration skills to include (OpenShift, Identity Management (IdM), Datacenter)
  • Comfortable with VMWare virtualization ecosystem and related technologies
  • Familiar with Risk Management Framework and how it applies to system administration
  • Familiarity with the principles and practice of system configuration management using modern declarative tools; ability to model and reduce complex system requirements as configuration declarations
  • A solid understanding of the operating systems in use at the site; understanding of paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, and filesystem concepts
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; ability to configure file sharing (NFS/SAMBA or Windows); ability to query DNS records; understanding of basic routing concepts
  • Knowledge of current Risk Management Framework, supporting NIST standards, and DoD STIG hardening
  • Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python)
  • Administers a complex site alone or assists in the administration of a larger site
  • Have expertise sufficient to handle second and third-level problems
  • Work efficiently using the command line interface
  • Sufficiently secure a system
  • Script or program automated tasks
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems
  • Discuss infrastructure needs with management
  • Interface with Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering teams to solve problems
  • Create and document standards

General Skills
  • Ability to execute, manage, and coordinate technically complex changes on an operational system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write purchase justifications, train users in various topics, and interact positively with management
  • Independent problem-solving, self-direction
  • Works well independently and on a team

  • Current, Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar subject
  • 5+ years of System Administrator experience in a TS/SCI environment supporting a government customer
  • Industry Certification to meet DoDD 8140.03 IAT II requirements. (Security+, CASP+, etc.)

Competitive salary based on experience and education

Salary Range: $150,000-$185,000
