Required Experience:

  • AWS Landing zone build out - limited involvement after buildout
  • Experience with Ansible (redhat)
  • Terraform experience: role is focused on Infrastructure as code on Azure.

Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer, Cloud, to join our team. As the Senior Engineer, Cloud, will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions using Azure, AWS and Google platforms. This role is mainly focusing on AWS Cloud and building out the Landing Zone and building out our Infrastructure as Code capabilities against the Cloud providers. You will collaborate closely with technology counterparts, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment, management, and governance of cloud-based services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, cloud automation, governance frameworks, and cloud security best practices. A change agent who challenges the status quo. Results-oriented, detailed, energetic, and focused with a strong desire to learn and succeed. Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Builds partnerships and works collaboratively across the organization with others to meet shared objectives. Relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment when making decisions.

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or in a related field and at least 3-5 years of experience is required to successfully perform this job.
  • 5+ Years' experience working as a Cloud Engineer, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong expertise in Azure, Google, and AWS cloud platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps principles and experience with cloud automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation etc.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing cloud governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud security concepts and hands-on experience with security controls and practices in a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technology counterparts and business stakeholders to deliver innovative cloud solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Strong expertise in Terraform and infrastructure as code.
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts, including VPN, DNS, load balancing, and routing in a cloud environment.
  • Relevant certifications from Azure, AWS, and Google
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Main Accountability:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on Azure, AWS, and Google platforms.
  • Develop and implement cloud automation strategies to streamline operational processes and enhance efficiency leveraging Infrastructure as Code Technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
  • Work closely with technology counterparts to align cloud initiatives with overall IT strategy and architecture.
  • Implement and enforce cloud governance policies, ensuring adherence to security standards, compliance, and best practices.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and adoption of new cloud technologies, services, and tools to enhance system performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide expertise in cloud security and ensure the implementation of robust security controls and practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity, and proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other engineering team members.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging cloud technologies, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
