Farnsworth Group is seeking a
SUE / Utilities Engineer in the posting location below. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects based around Subsurface Utility Engineering comprised of utility mapping, field designating, and development of utility reports. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the energy and utility industry.
Posting Location: Lisle, ILWhat You'll Do: - Provide technical support as part of an engineering team on projects reporting directly to Farnsworth's project manager.
- Field support - provide utility designation services by identifying, locating, and mapping underground utilities in the field to create a 2D map.
- Project execution - provide technical and design support for the development of utility drawings.
- Project coordination with various project team stakeholders including but not limited to client representatives, internal departments (i.e. survey, CAD, etc.), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other Energy and Utility team members
- Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
What You'll Need: - BS in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering degree), from an ABET accredited institution a plus
- 0-3 years of experience in the utility industry
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
- Computer proficiency with MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to travel and have a valid driver's license

Salary Range: $69,000 - $88,000 per year (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
