Senior Fabric Data Engineer / Technical Lead

We are seeking a Senior Fabric Data Engineer / Technical Lead to design, build, and lead modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Platform services. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, Warehouses, PySpark notebooks, capacities, and workspaces, along with strong leadership and architecture skills.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake)
• Architect and implement ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources into Azure Data Lake and Data Warehouse
• Develop and optimize PySpark notebooks for large-scale data processing
• Build and maintain data pipelines using:
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
• Optimize performance, cost, and scalability using Fabric Capacities and workspace management
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment best practices for data solutions

Governance, Security & Quality

• Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices
• Enforce data quality, lineage, and access control strategies
• Work closely with stakeholders to define data standards and best practices

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior engineers and reviewing code
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Contribute to solution design, technical decision-making, and roadmap planning

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, Warehouse
  • PySpark notebooks
  • Fabric Capacities & Workspaces
• Advanced skills in SQL, Python, PySpark

Data Concepts

• Solid understanding of:
  • Data modeling
  • ETL/ELT patterns
  • Data warehousing concepts
  • Data governance and security principles

Nice to Have

• Experience migrating legacy data platforms to Microsoft Fabric
• Exposure to real-time or streaming data solutions
• Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills

• DP-700: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer
• DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer
• Experience leading or architecting enterprise-scale data platforms
