We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong cybersecurity engineering experience to support enterprise security modernization initiatives. This role focuses on building secure APIs, developing automation frameworks, integrating penetration testing tools, and engineering SIEM data pipelines to enhance continuous monitoring and threat detection capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with security automation, Kali Linux-based testing environments, scripting (Python preferred), and enterprise SIEM integrations. This is a highly technical role suited for engineers who operate at the intersection of software development and cybersecurity operations.
This position is 100% onsite in Austin, TX and requires local candidates.

Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure APIs, microservices, and automation tools
- Build integrations between penetration testing platforms and enterprise SIEM systems
- Develop security data ingestion, parsing, and normalization pipelines
- Automate penetration testing workflows, reporting, and evidence collection
- Engineer and maintain Kali Linux-based testing environments
- Develop custom scripts and tooling to support red team and application security efforts
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for security tooling and integrations
- Integrate security findings into monitoring and compliance platforms
- Collaborate with security operations and engineering teams to enhance detection capabilities
- Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on cybersecurity engineering
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with penetration testing tools and Kali Linux environments
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred; Java, JavaScript, or C# acceptable)
- Experience developing secure REST APIs and enterprise system integrations
- Hands-on scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience integrating security tools with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, or similar)
- Experience building security automation frameworks and data ingestion pipelines
- Linux system administration experience
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
