Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in high-voltage system design, electric power cables, laboratory testing, LabVIEW automation, and BOM management. The role involves end-to-end responsibility from high-voltage design and component selection through BOM updates, laboratory validation, and compliance testing, supporting both R&D and production.
Key Responsibilities
High Voltage Design & Engineering
Design and review high-voltage electrical systems and power cable architectures (LV/MV/HV).
Perform insulation coordination, creepage & clearance calculations, and dielectric stress analysis.
Select and specify cables, terminations, joints, connectors, bushings, and insulation materials.
Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design optimization for cost and reliability.
BOM Ownership & Engineering Change Management
Create, review, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical assemblies and cable systems.
Execute BOM updates in ERP/PLM systems based on design changes, cost optimization, or supplier changes.
Support Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECR) and ensure documentation traceability.
Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and manufacturing on component qualification and substitutions.
High Voltage Testing & Laboratory Activities
Plan and conduct high-voltage tests: AC/DC withstand, impulse, partial discharge, insulation resistance, and thermal cycling.
Set up and operate high-voltage laboratories, ensuring compliance with safety and calibration requirements.
Perform type tests, routine tests, and customer witness tests.
Conduct failure analysis and recommend design or process improvements.
LabVIEW & Test Automation
Develop and maintain LabVIEW-based test systems for automated HV testing and data acquisition.
Integrate DAQ hardware, sensors, and HV instruments with LabVIEW.
Analyze test data and generate automated test reports.
Documentation, Compliance & Collaboration
Prepare design documents, test procedures, BOMs, and validation reports.
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, UL, and IS standards.
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Certification agencies.
Support audits, certifications, and customer technical reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master s preferred).
7+ years of experience in high-voltage design, cable systems, and testing.
Strong expertise in electric cable design, insulation systems, and HV engineering principles.
Hands-on experience in high-voltage laboratories and testing equipment.
Proficiency in LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
Experience managing BOMs, ECOs, and engineering documentation.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety and regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with partial discharge diagnostics and condition monitoring.
Familiarity with ERP/PLM tools (SAP, Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.).
Exposure to HV substations, switchgear, transformers, or EV high-voltage systems.
Experience leading technical reviews or mentoring junior engineers.
