Job Title: Tech Lead PDI Software (Billing & Operations)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with strong expertise in PDI software, specifically within billing, pricing, and operational systems. The Tech Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting PDI-based solutions while leading technical teams and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality systems.
This role requires deep hands-on knowledge of PDI modules, strong leadership skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Act as the technical owner for PDI billing and operational platforms.
- Provide hands-on leadership in design, development, customization, and integration of PDI solutions.
- Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architecture decisions.
- Review technical designs, code, and configurations to ensure quality and performance.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex production issues.
PDI Billing & Operations Expertise
- Design and implement billing workflows, pricing rules, tax calculations, and invoicing processes within PDI.
- Support end-to-end operational processes, including fuel pricing, contracts, site operations, and back-office integrations.
- Configure and customize PDI modules to meet business requirements.
- Ensure accurate data flow between PDI and external systems (ERP, POS, financial systems, reporting tools).
Architecture & Integration
- Design scalable and secure system architectures involving PDI and third-party applications.
- Lead integrations using APIs, web services, file-based interfaces, and middleware.
- Ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability across billing and operational systems.
- Support cloud, on-prem, or hybrid deployments as applicable.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business analysts, operations, finance, and billing teams to understand requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
- Participate in solution discussions, estimations, and roadmap planning.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Delivery & Support
- Lead technical delivery across project lifecycles: requirements, design, build, testing, deployment, and support.
- Support UAT, production releases, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with PDI software, particularly:
- Billing and invoicing
- Pricing and contract management
- Operational modules
- Experience with PDI configuration, customization, and extensions
- Strong understanding of billing systems, financial workflows, and operational data
- Experience with:
- SQL and relational databases
- APIs (REST/SOAP), web services, and system integrations
- Batch processing, file transfers, and middleware tools
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture and system design principles
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven experience leading technical teams or acting as a technical lead/SME
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to balance hands-on development with leadership responsibilities
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fuel, convenience retail, petroleum, or energy industry
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and release management
- PDI certifications (if available)
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
