FHIR Consultant

 

Job Summary

 

We are looking for an experienced FHIR Developer / Healthcare Data Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and maintain healthcare data solutions using HL7 FHIR standards. The candidate will work with healthcare interoperability platforms, APIs, clinical data, and cloud-based data pipelines to enable secure exchange of healthcare information across applications and systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop healthcare data integration solutions using HL7 FHIR standards.

Develop and consume FHIR REST APIs for exchanging clinical and patient data.

Work with FHIR resources including Patient, Practitioner, Encounter, Observation, Condition, MedicationRequest, DiagnosticReport, Procedure, and Organization.

Develop data transformation and mapping solutions between HL7 v2, CDA, FHIR, and proprietary healthcare formats.

Implement FHIR profiles, extensions, terminology bindings, and implementation guides.

Integrate FHIR APIs with EHR/EMR systems and healthcare applications.

Build scalable healthcare data pipelines using AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform cloud services.

Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery of healthcare data.

Implement healthcare data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation processes.

Work with healthcare terminology standards such as LOINC, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, RxNorm, and CPT.

Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SMART on FHIR.

Ensure solutions comply with healthcare privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA where applicable.

Troubleshoot API, interoperability, data-mapping, and integration issues.

Collaborate with healthcare architects, clinicians, product owners, QA engineers, and data engineering teams.

Develop technical documentation, API specifications, data mappings, and integration workflows.

Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
