Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager in West Valley City, UT.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced technology leader who is passionate about developing exceptional teams and delivering impactful software solutions. As Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee software development and quality assurance functions, guiding teams responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications that are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

This role combines people leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight to ensure engineering teams consistently deliver high-quality products while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic and technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are built for scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability
* Recruit, mentor, and develop software engineers and quality assurance professionals, creating an environment focused on growth, collaboration, and excellence
* Oversee delivery planning across multiple projects, balancing priorities, managing risks, and ensuring predictable execution timelines
* Champion modern development methodologies, including automation, emerging AI-enabled engineering tools, and best practices that improve team productivity and product quality
* Establish and maintain expectations for coding standards, testing approaches, application security, reliability, and overall engineering discipline
* Partner closely with product leaders, architects, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
* Drive process improvements that increase engineering efficiency, product stability, and delivery consistency
* Support architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making across the software portfolio

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered
* 8+ years of experience in software development within enterprise environments
* 3+ years of experience leading software development teams, including direct people management responsibilities
* Demonstrated success managing multiple technical initiatives simultaneously while delivering quality results
* Experience coaching engineers, supporting career development, and building strong, engaged teams
* Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, cloud-based technologies, and enterprise application development
* Ability to influence technical direction and participate in architecture, design, and engineering strategy discussions
* Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to achieve business goals

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with artificial intelligence technologies, machine learning platforms, or AI-assisted software development solutions
* Experience using metrics and operational data to improve engineering performance, delivery predictability, and team effectiveness
* Knowledge of responsible AI principles and governance considerations for software products
* Background partnering with cross-functional groups including Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Data, and business leadership
* Demonstrated success leading organizational change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
