We are seeking an experienced
Senior Mainframe Application Developer to lead the design, development, testing, and support of complex business applications. This role requires deep expertise in mainframe technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, support production environments, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex application programs and enhancements.
- Evaluate business processes and recommend effective technology solutions.
- Conduct systems analysis to support application development and implementation initiatives.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Support production systems and ensure application stability and performance.
- Coordinate and manage small-scale projects with limited scope and duration when required.
Testing & Quality Assurance- Define and develop test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Prepare and maintain testing environments.
- Execute component, integration, system, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Analyze testing results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business users to validate expected outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in application development and systems analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, and JCL development.
- Advanced SQL skills with extensive DB2 experience.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and change management processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer-focused mindset and ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to create functional and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of MQ, FTP, and NDM.
- Experience with SWIFT ISO standards and XML.
- Familiarity with AQT.
- Exposure to Java, J2EE, JavaScript, WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 8.5, and related technologies.
- Understanding of enterprise integration and financial services application environments.
